Plans and sign-in
You sign in to Nebula Writer with Google. The editor is free; Pro adds more AI and shared folders. This page covers signing in, the plans, upgrading and your account data.
Sign in with Google#
Sign-in is required to use the app.
- Open Nebula Writer and choose Continue with Google.
- Sign in on the page that opens in your browser.
- When the page says you're signed in, go back to the app.
If your session expires, the agent pane shows "Your session has expired. Sign in again to continue." Choose Sign in again and repeat the steps above.
To sign out, open Settings → Account and choose Sign Out.

When your AI allowance runs out#
On Free, when you've used this month's allowance the agent pane says "You've used all your AI requests this month." A prompt titled Upgrade to keep writing offers Upgrade to Pro.
You can keep opening and editing your files without the agent.
Upgrade to Pro#
- Open Settings (⌘, on a Mac, Ctrl+, on Windows and Linux) and choose Account.
- Choose Upgrade to Pro. The upgrade page opens in your browser.
- Finish the upgrade there, then go back to the app.
Account shows the email you signed in with and your plan under Subscription. On Pro, the button reads View Plan Options.
What is sent when you use AI#
Your request and the parts of your documents the agent needs are sent to our servers and our AI provider. Your files stay in your folder.
You don't need your own API key. AI is part of your account.
By default the open document is included with each request. To include it only when you attach it, set Active Document to Only when attached in Settings → Data & Privacy.
Your conversations and account data#
- Agent conversations are saved in the project's
.nebulafolder, so you can come back to them. To delete them, open Settings → Data & Privacy and choose Clear Conversation History. This clears every conversation in the current project and can't be undone. Restore points are kept. - To ask for a copy of your account data, choose Request Account Data Export in Settings → Data & Privacy. It opens an email to admin@nebulawriter.com.
- To delete your account, choose Request account deletion in Settings → Account. It also opens an email to admin@nebulawriter.com.
The Privacy Policy and Terms of Service are linked from Settings → Data & Privacy as well.
